  • By the pool later, Humbert sees a creepy man watching Lolita. His look is recognizable to Humbert. What really irks Humbert is that Lolita knows the man is watching her and is obviously performing to his gaze.
  • Humbert realizes that he is none other than the suspicious Trapp. All Humbert can do is drink gin.
