Character Analysis

The Ramsdale dentist and uncle to Clare Quilty. "A white-smocked, gray-haired man, with a crew cut and the big flat cheeks of a politician" (2.33.11). Ivor is an old friend to the Hazes. Humbert locates the nephew, Clare Quilty, by pretending he needs dental work. Ivor has no clue about the pervert his nephew is, and refers to him banally as a "rascal" (2.33.12).
