The Springfield Lottery

In the Season 3 Episode 19 of The Simpsons called "Dog of Death," Springfield's citizens have checked out all copies of "The Lottery" from the public library. When Homer finds out that the story in fact doesn't have any helpful tips for landing the big jackpot, he disappointedly tosses it in the fireplace (Dystopian alert! In the same episode, Homer throws several other books in the fire, including Fahrenheit 451).
