Character Role Analysis

Macbeth

The action of the play revolves entirely around Macbeth. Usually, the protagonist is something of the play's hero, but in Macbeth the protagonist is more of a cautionary tale. At first, Macbeth is considered a war hero and a loyal subject to King Duncan. After the weird sisters reveal a prophesy that Macbeth will reign as king, our protagonist's ambition gets the better of him and carries out evil acts in order to secure his position of power until, finally, Macbeth meets his tragic end.
