Home Mythology Queen Maeve Police Reports Maeve, Conall Cernach vs. The Estate of Ailill mac Máta

Case File: Maeve, Conall Cernach vs. The Estate of Ailill mac Máta

Police Reports

Case Description: Conall Cernach is accused of the murder of King Ailill. Queen Maeve is accused of collusion for hiring Conall to commit the act of violence.

Case Status: Pending. Maeve argues it was a crime of passion: she walked in on Ailill committing marital infidelity. Conall says he was willing to help her, because killing Ailill would avenge the death of Fergus mac Roy (who was Conall's friend; Fergus was killed by Ailill).
