Vera

Character Analysis

Bigger’s little sister, Vera, lives with the same kind of fear and shame that Bigger suffers. Though Vera’s behavior frequently annoys Bigger, when he hears that his little sister had to quit her sewing class at the local YMCA because of Bigger’s infamy, he realizes that his actions have hurt not only himself, but his entire family.
