Romeo and Juliet was a movie adaptation, but Ten Things, as you point out, just went ahead and took the premise but then ran off in its own direction.  Meanwhile, did the original Benjamin Button short story even have a romance?

I would have loved to see Tristan+Isolde on your list, they never get any credit.</description>
