This is very debatable, every person I know who read the Twilight Series before seeing the film agrees that the books are an awful lot better than the very poor film series. Secondly, The Shawshank Redemption is my favourite ever film, but the novella is so much better than the movie.

Oh please Harry Potter FTW! The DaVinci Code is soo freshman year summer reading. I didn't really like the writing. It was too "Please make this a movie and make more millions" (though I have nothing against the plot). And Harry Potter? Yes, they're good reads but by now, everyone has read them and they're really written for fourth graders to understand, just like the Twilight series.

I'm very happy that some of Ray Bradbury's books made the list. I feel that he's an author with a lot of insight. Might I add some other dystopia books to go along with Farenheit 451? Brave New World and 1984 are both very interesting reads if Farenheit 451 did suit your tastes.

Grammar police: For all the lit guides, you write "Title, by Author" There's no comma between title and "by;" the "by" serves as a separator between the title and author.

This list is very good, but this one might be my favorite:
"Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, "and was is the use of a book," thought Alice, "without pictures or conversations?"

Lighten up Rosmari...if you read the introduction it was based off of popular vote. Which did you nominate or vote for? oh right, you were to busy insulting the intelligence of those who may not have picked something off of your list...hmmm...

You should add Beastly by Alex Flinn and Charlie St. Cloud by Ben Sherwood. They're really good books and the movies starring Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, respectively are really good too.
