Raphael (Books 5-8) and Michael (Books 11-12)

The angel Raphael comes down from Heaven to have lunch with Adam in Book 5; he tells him about the creation of the earth, about the structure of the universe, and how to obey God. After the Fall, the angel Michael comes down and gives Adam a history lesson, showing him not only the evil that will come from his actions but also the good that eventually result.
