Character Role Analysis

Elizabeth Bennet

Although you might argue that Mr. Darcy goes through an equal or (maybe even greater) journey of character development, the novel follows Elizabeth's thoughts, not Darcy's. For example, we don't learn about Darcy's true character until Elizabeth does – and we watch her character struggle with the information and become much more open-minded. In contrast, we are kept in the dark regarding Darcy's greatest moments of revelation.
