Prometheus and Jesus

Comparing anyone to Jesus is a pretty big deal these days. But it's hard not to see some similarities between Prometheus and JC.

Both figures are said to have gone through some horrible torment for the good of mankind. Prometheus is doomed to be eternally chained to a rock and be pecked at by birds, while Jesus suffers the painful death of crucifixion.

But remember, these two guys are said to have sacrificed themselves for different things: Prometheus does it for fire, while Jesus does it for redemption.

Check out our profiles on Prometheus and Jesus, and decide for yourself: are they brothers from another mother?
