The Scarlet Letter
by Nathaniel Hawthorne

Reverend John Wilson

Character Analysis

The Reverend Wilson serves a very minimal role in the book, but is among the men who judge Hester Prynne at the beginning of the book; in the penultimate chapter, he asks the Reverend Dimmesdale if he needs assistance. Dimmesdale says no, and reaches for Hester instead.
