    Hunting in Style
One of my favorite pastimes is hunting—on skis! [Skadi Hunting in the Mountains by H.L.M., in Mary H. Foster, Asgard Stories: Tales from Norse Mythology. Silver, Burdett, and Co., 1809, p. 79.]

    Choosing a Husband
I got to choose my husband, but with a catch: I had to choose him based only on seeing his feet! Clearly that didn't end well. [Skadi Choosing her Husband by Huard, in A. & E. Keary, The Heroes of Asgard: Tales from Scandinavian Mythology. New York: MacMillan, 1893]

    Official Portrait
Njord commissioned this portrait of me before our marriage. He wanted me to wear a dress, but I chose to appear in my armor. Duh. [Skade by Carl Fredrik von Saltza, in the Poetic Edda, ed. Fredrik Sander, 1893.]

    UGH.
Ugh. I hated living in Nóatún. The sea birds kept me awake ALL NIGHT. [Skadi's Desire of the Mountains by W.G. Collingwood, 1908]

    Njord in Thrymheim
Things weren't much better for Njord in the mountains, though. The wolves kept him awake at night. [Njörd's Desire of the Sea by W.G. Collingwood, in The Elder or Poetic Edda, Olive Bray, ed. and trans., 1908, p. 271]

    Back to the Grind
Here we are, headed back to Nóatún (but not without a huge fight). [Njörðr and Skaði on the way to Njörðr's home Nóatún by Friedrich Wilhelm Heine, 1882]

    Tribute Plate
I'm so famous among the Danes that they've put me on decorative plates! Score. [Skade by Carl Christian Peters, mid-1800s]

    Loki's Punishment
I'm proud to say that I thought of this punishment for Loki: tying him up underneath a venomous snake. Not bad, eh? [Loki and Sigyn by Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg, 1810]
