The Sneetches and Other Stories Identity Quotes

How we cite our quotes: (Story.Line)

Quote #4

And often she wishes that, when they were born, / She had named one of them Bodkin Van Horn / And one of them Hoos-Foos. And one of them Snimm. (Daves.9-11)

Notice how each name is loaded with personality. The identity of the different Daves can be found in the names their mom should have given them. Too bad. It would have made setting the table that much easier.

Quote #5

I saw a pair of pale green pants / With nobody inside them!

We all identify pants with things people wear around. So when the narrator sees pants without anybody trouncing around inside, he can be excused for freaking out a little bit.
