Song of Solomon

by Toni Morrison

Omar

Character Analysis

Omar is a Shalimar elder who first invites Milkman to go bobcat hunting with the other town elders. He extends this offer to see how the city boy might hold up in the Blue Ridge wilderness. After the hunt, he warms up to Milkman, telling him where he might find out more about his family tree and, also, where he might find lodging for the night.
