Mr. Compson

Though troubled like the other characters in the novel, Mr. Compson accurately reads the impossible situation his family is in. That doesn’t make the situation any less impossible, of course. It just means that he’s able to help Quentin understand his rage a bit better. Of course, Quentin still kills himself.
