Andy Evans is a clear antagonist. He's a rapist with no visible redeeming qualities. He is a flat character whose motivations and background aren't explored. Melinda doesn't have and doesn't want access to information about Andy. As the story unfolds, readers and Melinda learn that she's only one of Andy's many victims.
