Stargirl

Stargirl

by Jerry Spinelli

Analysis: Tough-o-Meter

We've got your back. With the Tough-O-Meter, you'll know whether to bring extra layers or Swiss army knives as you summit the literary mountain. (10 = Toughest)

(2) Sea level

Stargirl is a page-turner, that's for sure. Our girl is so quirky it's hard not to keep reading to see what she'll do next. Plus, the easy-to-read language will keep you trucking. The hardest part in the book is probably trying to understand what Archie, the retired paleontologist, is saying when he turns into Mr. Philosopher. But you are not alone; our narrator Leo doesn't get most of it either, so if some things slip by you, that's okay. Shmoop has your back.
