Endlessly amusing is Ned Flanders’s portrayal of Stanley in The Simpsons. It’s a musical version, and he sings out the verses in his shrill voice:
"Can’t you hear me yella,
You’re putting me through hella,
Stella! …Stella!" (Source)

Vivien Leigh (who played Blanche in the film), suffered from bipolar disorder. She said that playing Blanche "tipped [her] into madness," and that she later believed herself to be Williams’s fictional character. (Source: Coleman, Terry. Olivier, The Authorised Biography)

Tennessee Williams was actually named "Thomas," but earned his geographical nickname in college. He later legally changed his name in 1939.

Every year in New Orleans there’s a Stanley shouting contest, where men go shirtless and scream for Stella to come back. (Source)
