• Luis Cruz has died.
• His dad found him dead in the grove. Getting hit on the head caused an aneurysm that killed him a few days later.
• The sheriff thinks maybe a branch hit him in the head while he was fighting the freeze. They don't know about Arthur's blackjack.
• Paul is so upset, he has to leave school early.
