Case File: Commendation: Thanatos and Hypnos

Police Reports

Thanatos and his brother Hypnos (Sleep) received a commendation from Zeus. When the war hero Sarpedon, who was Zeus's son, was killed by Patroclus during the Trojan War, Thanatos and his brother spirited the body away so that it could receive proper burial. Zeus was so sad that he caused the sky to rain blood, but he never forgot the help that Thanatos and Hypnos gave his fallen son.

Full details can be found in Homer's Iliad.
