  • Edna begins to feel uneasy remembering her own experiences with childbirth.
  • Edna begins thinking of all the people who die.
  • Edna stays with Adele, witnessing the torturous scene. When it’s over, Edna says good-bye and kisses Adele on the forehead.
  • As Edna leaves, Adele tells her to think of the children.
