The Good Morrow
by John Donne
Analysis: Steaminess Rating
Exactly how steamy is this poem?
Even though the speaker moves away from the joys of hanky-panky and into the metaphysical realms of true, spiritual love, this poem still packs plenty of naughty. Not only are these lovers just waking up from a night of sexcapades; stanza one also features some pretty lewd wordplay and innuendo. "The Good Morrow": putting the "bawd" in "aubade" since 1633.
