Maximus Timeline and Summary

  • Almachius orders Maximus to execute Valerian and Tiburtius.
  • Filled with pity and struck by their teaching, Maximus takes the brothers to his house so he can listen to their teaching.
  • After this night, Maximus and his household receive Christian baptism.
  • Soon after Valerian and Tiburtius are executed, Maximus tells everyone that he saw their souls glide to heaven. For this, he, too, is executed.
