To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird

by Harper Lee

Analysis: Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

It may be a staple of school book lists, but it's not exactly a Pixar movie. Nothing steamy ever happens on screen—or page—but it does mention rape, sexual violence, and implied incest. Even though it's almost certain that Tom's rape of Mayella never actually happened, Mayella and her father describe it as if it did. And that's definitely enough to make this parental guidance recommended.
