To Melancholy

To Melancholy

by Charlotte Smith

Analysis: Tough-o-Meter

(4) Base Camp

This poem uses a lot of figurative language and has some unfamiliar vocabulary, but the sentence structure is relatively straightforward. You don't want to tackle this poetic hike in flip flops, but with a little help from Shmoop you won't find yourself stranded above the tree line, either.
