Tina Turner was born on this day in 1939. She grew up in the tiny town of Nutbush, Tennessee, which she immortalized in song with the funky track "Nutbush City Limits." In 2001, state route 19 between Nutbush and Brownsville was renamed Tina Turner Highway in her honor, which is basically the American equivalent of knighthood.
