The Constable

It's a little hard for us to take this guy seriously. Sure, he has dangerous and serious powers over the other characters because of his position, but let's be honest—he's kind of a bumbling fool.

Let's take a look at a few of the reasons we think this guy is meant to be comic relief:

• He's a total chatterbox. Even Yellow Suit Guy can't wait to get away from him. 
• He's super nosy, interested in all the goings-on in town.
• Under his watch, a convicted murderer breaks right out of the jail.

In the end, he's really mostly a plot mover, there to catch Mae in the act and land her in jail.
