Character Analysis

Fanning is the fictional subsheriff of Dublin. He is referenced in the Dubliners story "Grace," and here is discussed in "Aeolus" and appears briefly in "The Wandering Rocks.." He also appears in his role as subsheriff in Bloom's masochistic court fantasy in "Circe."
