Character Role Analysis
The Souls: Noah, Nadia, Ethan, and Julian
Each of The Souls is the protagonist in his or her own little narrative, but together they're something even greater: the protagonist of The View from Saturday.
If you were a fancy literary critic, you might call this a collective character, and you might say something cool about how there are foursomes in other books like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe or Little Women.
Since we're just ordinary literary critics here at Shmoop, we'll just point out that the protagonist of The Souls works as one to win the Bowl and help out Mrs. Olinski—and leave you to come up with the rest.
