Platon

Much of Pierre's wisdom later in life can be traced back to the simple and humble man he meets while imprisoned by the French army. Platon is much more deeply aware and connected to what Pierre sees as spiritual truth than he will ever know, and the example he sets by his unfailing kindness, generosity, and optimism stay with Pierre and help him become a loving father and husband.
