War and Peace

by Leo Tolstoy

War and Peace Volume 2, Part 1, Chapter 15 Summary

  • Nikolai comes home super depressed.
  • He’s kind of shocked to realize that no one in his family knows anything about his gambling – they're just hanging out listening to music and in a good mood.
  • He mopes around, waiting for his dad to come home.
  • Meanwhile, Natasha starts to sing Denisov’s favorite song. She’s amazing. Her voice is all developed and mature and everyone gets lost in the music. Nikolai gets so carried away listening that he starts to sing too without even noticing.
  • He gets lost in the music and feels a little bit better about his life.
