When You Reach Me Chapter 22 Summary

Things You Count

  • One day before Thanksgiving Colin is weighing slimy turkey meat and Miranda is counting rolls.
  • Julia walks by outside the shop and Miranda sarcastically calls her "Swiss Miss" (22.10) – mainly because she goes to Switzerland all the time with her rich family.
  • Jimmy laughs and says that's a good one, though Miranda isn't sure why.
  • Ever since their foreheads touched, Miranda has been feeling strange (but good) about Colin. Maybe Annemarie has too (but we're not sure).
  • Miranda's roll count comes up just right. Colin jokingly suggests that she should make it come up short one day – it'd make Jimmy happy, since he'd have a bone to pick with the bread company.
