When You Reach Me Chapter 38 Summary

Christmas Vacation

  • Christmas break starts, but Miranda doesn't call Annemarie or Colin. She watches Sal play basketball from her living room window.
  • Miranda tries to put things in perspective and wonders if it really matters that Sal won't talk to her anymore. She decides it does.
  • She does the same thing with Annemarie. Does it really matter that they are so different? "One has a charge account at Gold's. One has keys in her pocket" (38.6).
  • She decides, again, that it does matter.
