Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

by Gregory Maguire

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

R

This definitely isn't the family-friendly Oz from the movie, or the imaginative, musical, romantic Oz of the Broadway show. The world of Wicked definitely involves a lot of sex, and includes some fairly graphic descriptions and discussions of the subject. Sex, sexuality, and sexual politics are frequent discussion points in the novel, whose subject matter includes rape, the underground world of sex clubs, pornography, and adultery. Like most things in Wicked, sex is thematic, political, sometimes risqué, and very complicated.
