Winter Dreams

Winter Dreams

by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Analysis: Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

There are no actual descriptions of sex in this story, but the whole thing is pretty much about sexual attraction. It's Dexter's helpless physical attraction to Judy that makes everything happen in "Winter Dreams." Judy's sex appeal echoes throughout the story: her "physical splendor" (5.6) attracts all men. Still, even though the story is all about sex, Fitzgerald tactfully withholds the juicy details.
