Creative Things to Wear Under Your Graduation Robe

Creative Things to Wear Under Your Graduation Robe

Categories: Student, College Prep

We know, you've got more important things to think about right now (like... the next four years of your life, duh!). We've got your wardrobe all planned out, check it:

What Our Parents Wore to their Graduation

In case they weren’t feeling dated enough already. Imagine mom’s face when she sees an exact replica of her graduation day suede vest and bell bottoms combo parading around the 2020's.

Our Fanciest Clothes

Come on, how often do we get to pull out grampa’s hand-me-down tux? Or sparkle in that sequined masterpiece that takes ten minutes to button? It’s graduation- go all out!

The Team Uniform

After this day, the announcement that we were second-string striker on varsity soccer is only going to get the computer geeks who run the world to roll their eyes. But today is still ours; we can wear that number proudly.

A Tutu

Robes are often one-size-fits-all, so we have to make the best of all that extra fabric. Keep it poofy with this ballerina staple. This professor even wore it over his robes.

What We Wore to Class on an Average Wednesday

Let’s commemorate the last four years by dressing like usual: the t-shirt we haven’t washed in three weeks, the jeans that have gone from distressed to clinically hysterical, the beanie that kept our ears warm as we slept through lecture.

A Toga

Graduation is about celebrating the best moments of college. How could we choose anything but the faithful bedsheet that brought us luck in many a pong game?

A Tracksuit

Alternatively, we can recognize the new phase of our life by wearing something that never left the closet during college. We’re adults now; we’ve got to prepare for a life of waking up to run in the cold 6am air before Heading To The Office.

Another Robe

Beneath our graduation robe lies--another graduation robe! It’s like inception in an outfit. And we’ve been wondering what to do with that high school graduation robe that’s gathering dust in the closet.

A Swimsuit

For colleges with fountains, lakes, pools, oceans, etc. Step one--graduate. Step two--Strip. Step three--Cannonball into the future. Literally.

Nothing

Come on, it’s more than 80˚ out there, we’re wearing a knee-length polyester garbage bag, and it’s too late to get kicked out of school. If there was ever a great commando moment, this is it.
