When Mr. Williams visits, Pamela takes advantage of a moment when Mrs. Jewkes's back is turned to arrange a hiding place (between two tiles near a sunflower) where she and the parson can exchange notes.
She describes more troubling interactions with Mrs. Jewkes, whose morals seem pretty out of whack.
Also, we find out that she was able to write and hide a note to Mr. Williams, begging for his help.
