The title Inside Out refers to the fact that we're given an exclusive peek at what's going on inside Riley's noggin. We're privy to her emotional ups and downs and witness how decisions are made.
We discover that her subconscious is populated by clowns and scary basements, that her memories are shimmering orbs warehoused like old VHS tapes, and that the whole shebang is presided over by team of anthropomorphized emotions sharing a control panel.
Just like Joy, Sadness, and the rest of the crew, we're on the inside looking out, too. We see most of the world around Riley from Riley's perspective, through her eyes, in first-person. It's all pretty…out there.
