Back at the bowling alley, a man in a purple polyester suit with a bizarre bowling glove and giant pinkie nail is licking his bowling ball before sending it down the lane.
It turns out that this man is Jesus Quintana, who calls himself The Jesus. He hates The Dude, Donny, and Walter.
The Dude laments The Jesus's ability to roll, but Walter "comforts" The Dude with the knowledge that The Jesus is a sex offender and that he had to inform all his neighbors about it.
There's a brief cut to The Jesus walking around residential Hollywood, ringing people's doorbells and telling them this unpleasant fact about himself.
One really scary guy opens the door, and The Jesus freezes like, I'm gonna die now, aren't I?
Walter asks The Dude how the meeting with the Big Lebowski went. The Dude, chilled out and happy, explains that the Big Lebowski is going to give him $20,000 to do the ransom money hand-off.
The Dude actually thinks Bunny Lebowski probably kidnapped herself and that the whole thing is gonna be a cakewalk. He's also excited because the Big Lebowski gave him a beeper in order to stay in touch.
A beeper is a cultural artifact that looks like this.
The Jesus taunts them and tells them he's going to crush them in the league tournament.
Actually, he expresses it a little more strongly, but like most of the movie's dialogue, it's unrepeatable.
The Dude responds with a classic comeback: "Yeah? Well that's just, like, your opinion, man."
