(3) Base Camp

Cummings has a way of making even very obscure poems sound like they make sense. This poem, however, is one of his most lucid. Not only are the images clean-cut and resonant, but also the storyline is pretty simple to follow. Geez, even if you count all of the different words in this poem, you wouldn't come up with that high of a word count, largely because there's just so much repetition in the poem.
