Through reading, even the poorest person can be free to travel wherever they like, without having to pay for a toll or ticket. Imagine a good book as a kind of magic carpet, good for travel anywhere.
How frugal is the ChariotThat bears the Human soul. (lines 7-8)
These closing lines remind us that our bodies are just shells for what really matters – our souls. Books and stories are the "Chariots" that allow us to be free to roam in spirit, if not in body.
