Describe the overall structure (e.g., chronology, comparison, cause/effect, problem/solution) of events, ideas, concepts, or information in a text or part of a text.

There are many ways a text can be organized, and this Common Core Standard is here to make sure that students are aware of all of them by the end of fourth grade. In addition to the three listed in the standard, here are other common ways of organizing information in a text: order of importance, topic-based, sequence, and pro/con.
