Reading RL.3.2

Recount stories, including fables, folktales, and myths from diverse cultures; determine the central message, lesson, or moral and explain how it is conveyed through key details in the text.

Fables, folktales, and myths are usually pretty good at hitting people over the head with their lessons or morals, so students should be able to quickly pick up on what those are. Students should also be able to explain why they believe those are the lessons or morals of a particular story.
