5th Grade Grammar - Course Introduction
Welcome to Shmoop's crash course on all things 5th grade grammer.
Uh, let's try that again. Welcome to Shmoop's crash course on all things 5th grade grammar. We're just thankful this isn't a course on spelling, because we'd be off to a pretty bonkers start.
You're probably wondering right now why grammar is even important. It's not like math, which seems pretty key to, say, sussing out whether you got the right fraction of a shared pizza (what? Are we the only ones who math our pizzas?)
Turns out, grammar is an even more useful skill that pizza division—and we don't say that lightly. Without proper grammar, you try to say something like
Eat this corn and squash, my friends.
And end up with sentences like
Eat this corn, and squash my friends.
And then all your friends are just goners.
Head on over to Lesson 1, intrepid students of 5th grade grammar. Do it for your friends.
