As you join Chaucer on his journey to Canterbury, you'll hear stories from the motliest of motley crews. They're telling their tales in a quest to prove themselves the best wordsmiths around—and win a free meal.

So who deserves the prize on Britain's Got Talent: Canterbury Edition? The working-class miller, whose bawdy tale of adulterous liaisons would make even Hugh Heffner blush? Or the desperate housewife whose romance teaches us exactly what women want? Or should the spoils go to the Second Nun for her somber story of a woman so holy that not even beheading can keep her from singing God's praises?

Throughout this course, you'll get to decide. And along the way, you'll learn a little something about medieval pilgrimages; medieval genres like romance, fabliau, and saints' lives; and just exactly what Chaucer was thinking.
