If you're coming here from somewhere else, and you have a vehicle that was registered in another state, you'll need to get it registered here within ten days of your first day of residency or at a new job.

To register an out-of-state vehicle in North Dakota, you'll need:

1. a completed and signed Application for Title and Application for Registration.
2. out-of-state title or registration card.
3. proof of insurance.
4. proof of address and identity.
5. whatever MVD fees are required.

Get all of that taken care of and you're officially a North Dakota driver. Good luck out there—you're going to need it.
