Abandonment

You have an option to buy 18 tons of paper pulp for 5 grand a tonne (metric, fancy). You bought the option a year ago when prices were high and inflation was...a thing. But now, the world has calmed, sagged, gone all flabby even, and the spot prices of a tonne of pulp are only $3,400 a tonne, so like...why would you ever exercise that option to buy? Who will buy? Nobody. So you abandon the option. And yes, it will have abandonment issues the rest of its life.
