Activity Capacity

Categories: Tech, Metrics

The optimized theoretical maximum capacity throughput a machine or process can generate.

Like...that plastic cup stamping machine? The one that produces cups in batches of 100 with cute, kitschy or intentionally offensive sayings on the cups? Well, if it were perfectly tuned, and all of the phrases were pre-loaded into the machine, and the stamper was clean and filled with gobs of plastic, and there were no power outages or robot-union strikes, then that machine has activity capacity of 1,000 cups an hour.

Its primed activity can, at most, produce 1,000 cups an hour with giant FUs on the front of them.

What? This batch was being made for Fordham University.
