Anniversary Rating Date (ARD)

Categories: Insurance

The Anniversary Rating Date (ARD) is a big day in the insurance industry. This is the day and month that a policy began, and every year on that date the policy can be evaluated to see if the rates need to be changed. So if you caused an accident during the year or received several speeding tickets, your auto insurance premium will most likely go up. Sometimes the anniversary rating date is different from the renewal date, such as in a worker’s compensation policy where the rates are set by the state at a specific time each year.
